About Me
Hi there and welcome to Lizzie's Reading Nook, a collection of book reviews and updates.
I'm Lizzie, and I'm located in beautiful South Australia. When I'm not reading, I'm either working as a laboratory chemist (I have a degree in Forensic Science - which explains a lot about my love of crime books and shows!), watching a crime show, or I'm watching or playing sport.
I grew up surrounded by books, as both my parents were avid readers and collectors. We're more of a book dragon family than we are a book worm family! Being surrounded by books as a child was amazing - though I was often told I was reading way too old for my age. As a kid and teenager, I was happiest in a library or curled up reading a book. Unfortunately, as I've gotten older, reading has taken a bit of a back seat. However, nothing beats being able to spend several hours with a book, getting completely and utterly lost and consumed in the pages.
I will read pretty much anything, and I love a good book rec! If a book has been recommended to me by a friend, I will read it until I'm finished, even if it's a struggle sometimes. There have been plenty of books I've read where I haven't actually enjoyed them until the second half of the book (or even later sometimes!).
